Pope Benedict XVI has suffered a minor wrist fracture after falling while on aholiday in northern Italy. The Pope’s condition is said to be fine and the doctors have said that it is nothing serious.
The Pope, 82, was taken to a nearby hospital in the alpine town of Aosta. The doctors informed the media that the Pope had suffered a minor fracture in his right wrist and that there was nothing to worry about.
According to certain reports, the Pope was accompanied to the hospital by an aide. According to hospital authorities the Pope’s wrist was X-rayed and that further checks were continuing.
The Pope formerly Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was elected pontiff in 2005 and had been staying at a house in the village of Les Combes in the Valle d’Aosta region.
