The attack occured when a hacker gained access to the Google Apps account eg. Docs, Calendar and other free web based services Google offers. This was apprently due to the secret question asked during validation being not that secret. The hacker then took all information and mailed it to TechCrunch.
The information included financial projections, product plans, meeting notes that have been published by TechCrunch. But the list could contain other information as well such as salary data, names of people who had interviewed at Twitter, employment agreements, calendars of the founders, new employee interview schedules, etc.
TechCrunch and Twitter are in negotiations about whether to publish the data or not. This attack seems to be one of the most embarrassing and humiliating attacks on a company in the history of the internet.
